Pitching isn't just for landing an agent but to help you zero in and define your story.

I think I may have mixed up the definitions of the high concept and elevator pitch, but you guys get the idea.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06732854288433860194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1996127547673665644.post-7581700175563283262010-09-03T17:35:46.193-07:002010-09-03T17:35:46.193-07:00Great post Mart. It is a science and the pitch will ultimately remain the same but would be taylored for the situation.

Here are the examples from class for my first MS, By Grace Alone.

There is the elevator pitch. Not what the book is about but what they can expect.

Lost love found along the Jersey Shore.

The Premise Pitch- in 25 words or less what your book is about.

His wife left him and their son. Her husband died and she's pregnant. Can these childhood friends and first loves rekindle more than their friendship?

The High Concept Pitch. Using icons or universal images to paint a picture.

The heart of The Notebook meet the family dysfunction of Brothers & Sisters.

Hope this helps!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06732854288433860194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1996127547673665644.post-10326630340896196162010-09-03T17:29:34.833-07:002010-09-03T17:29:34.833-07:00Thank you very much for posting this blog with the...Thank you very much for posting this blog with the very helpful links.
